I ran the command line scanner with the latest DAT file from McAfee and found no virus/spyware activity.
VSE 8.7 works without a problem, but it also does not have the anti-spyware module that 8.8 integrated into this release. Access Protection, Buffer Overflow protection and On Access Scanner all disable and will not re-enable until user manually restarts McAfee services from services.msc. Then MCSHIELD service and framework service is disabled. After installation completes of VSE 8.8 the scanner is run on VSE 8.8 it runs for about 4 minutes (varies each time) then says scan cancels with 0 files scanned. It runs much quicker when the free version of Malwarebytes is installed or Malwarebytes is not installed at all.
